Local legend Al Stilley has published a piece in the latest installment of The Southsider Voice, covering the release of The Skeleton Melodies (Hippocampus Press). Our discussion touched on several topics (Ghouljaw and Other Stories…the Nightmare Theater horror host, Sammy Terry…Dark Shadows…). I’m grateful to have spent some time with Al.
Closing in on a year since I received the initial cover-art drafts from the inimitable Dan Sauer, along with the final galleys from Hippocampus Press. I’m pondering the process this morning, dwelling on (in an otherwise pitiful year of 2020) my mystifying stroke of luck to cross paths with artists (particularly ones who endorsed the project) saturated in various creative crafts. If time and interest allow, check out my sophomore collection of short stories, The Skeleton Melodies.
