“Three Paths to the Page”: An Interview with SOUTH Magazine

This past summer during the rollout of The Sacraments of Blackgum Lake (Lethe Press), I had the opportunity to share a few thoughts with Amanda Stevenson-Holmes for her South magazine story, “Three Paths to the Page.” Our discussion dipped into my experience as an educator, but mainly focused on the tension between “day-job” obligations and artistic endeavors—how “friction fosters fiction.” Pick up a copy of the fall, 2026 installment of South at various locations on the southside of Indy, or read more here.

Horror’s Call Number: The Johnson County Public Library’s Local Author Fair

Representing the Indiana horror-fiction contingent, I’m eager to participate in the annual Local Author Fair hosted by the Johnson County Public Library, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. April 13 at the Clark Pleasant Branch. In addition to keeping good company with dozens of Indiana writers, I’ll have available for purchase copies of Ghouljaw and Other Stories (Hippocampus Press), When It’s Time For Dead Things to Die (Unnerving), and The Skeleton Melodies (Hippocampus Press).

Shoutout to Erin Cataldi, Adult and Teen Services Librarian, who’s done a magnificent job of organizing and promoting the event. If you happen to be within striking distance on Saturday April 13, it’d be great to see you.
