Something Wicked and The Tell-Tale Art

Joe Vaz and Vianne Venter’s sinister collaboration, Something Wicked, Volume 2, has been available in trade paperback format for several weeks now.  I recently received a couple copies and they’re stunning—both narratively and aesthetically.  Vaz and Venter have assembled a motley crew of writers and a line-up of visually-arresting artists, including Vincent Sammy and Pierre Smit.  I’m honored that my short story “Double Back” is accompanied by a pair of Smit’s illustrations.  Give this grim little gem a gander…

SOMETHING WICKED…WELL, YOU KNOW THE REST…

Hey, friends:  It was announced last week that South Africa’s Something Wicked magazine has reinvented itself as an annual anthology series, and pre-orders for Something Wicked, Volume 2 are available through indiegogo.  The book will officially go on sale in April, 2013 (in limited edition hardback, paperback, Kindle, and eBook formats), but Joe Vaz and Vianne Venter have released the cover art by Vincent Sammy:

Making an appearance in this anthology is a story of mine titled DOUBLE BACK that I penned back in January, 2009, and which was accepted for print in May, 2011.  Writing for publication:  it ain’t fast food, folks.
